
Former AFA 1st vice-president Whalid Whalid of Libya was removed from the post following his inactivity and ineffectiveness as stated in the AFA Constitution.
The position was then declared vacant by the President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation Charles Ossei and seconded by Nasser of Egypt.
Jackson was consequently elected into the position after he polled six votes.
It’s a success story for Nigerian sports and it shows that what we are doing is being noticed. We are happy because it’s an indication of Nigeria’s contribution to the sport in Africa and the world as a whole, he said.
This is another call to service to make armwrestling stronger in Africa. I’ll continue to give my best to this course so we can make things better. He said.
