Progressives Congress party, APC.The Chairman, Mr Abdullahi Candido said this while addressing journalists in Abuja on the recent defection of some members of the APC to other political parties.
Mr Candido also enjoined those considering cross carpeting to other parties to do so on time, saying that ”the governing party was intact and not perturbed by the mass defection at the National Assembly early in the week.”
Better governance
He said the party would not lose sleep over the defection but rather lose sleep on means of ensuring better governance.
Response to the Decampees
“There is no crack as far as i am concerned. We are politicians and we can’t read the mind of people from facial expressions…So, those who are planning to defect, better do that now so that we may plan ahead,” Mr Candido said.
According to him, the administration owes electorates good governance. He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for deepening democracy by his response to the defectors.
“As for APC members in AMAC, we want to assure you that the party is intact and waxing stronger and by the grace of God 2019 will be another successful outing for APC as a party in the FCT.
“In the area council here, you will not hear of anybody defecting. For those who may wish to defect however, they better do it now so that we will begin to plan ahead…For any council executive member under this administration who wants to defect, you are free, we want to have progressives that are deeply rooted,” Mr Candido stressed.
He added that President Buhari would not lose his sleep and would emerge victorious in 2019 general election.
